Early on Sunday morning we went to the tour company office to get the bus to Halong Bay. then our tour guide 'My ' introduced herself. (her name is pronounced 'me' which means beautiful in vietnamese.) She took us on a three hour bus drive to Halong bay. it only felt like a 25 minute journey as My was telling us some things about the war in Vietnam. When we got to Halong Bay it was boiling, in fact scorching hot! we got on a mini boat so we could get to the treasure junk - our boat. our room on the boat was epic; we had our own balcony and a jacuzzi bath!!
highlights-
1) as we were travelling along a load of tiny fish were leaping out of the sea.
2) Each morning at half past six, I went to a tai chi lesson on the deck of the boat.
3) we saw some massive jelly fish from our boat. luckily we didn't see any when we were swimming!
4) we did loads of kayaking and went to some beautiful beaches where we went snorkelling.
it was brilliant going to Halong bay.
