Jumping dolphins by Emma

Today (10th), we went to Milford Sound. We thought we would be going on a plane with other people, but because there were 4 of us, they decided we could have our own plane! Dad was pleased about that!
Milford Sound is a fjord that was created a looooong time ago during the ice age, by a glacier. When we arrived, we went on a cruise through the sound. The mountains were really steep. One of the peaks (Mitre Peak) is one of the highest peaks in the world to rise out of the sea.
On the way out towards the open sea, we saw some dolphins. One of them did a backwards flip to impress us, and everyone cheered.
However, the best was still to come....On the way back, we saw some fur seals on seal rock. There were quite a few seals minding their own business on the rock, and others were in the water tumble turning.
Next we sailed so close to a really powerful waterfall, you could almost touch it! The spray made nearly everybody run inside!
After that we spotted dolphins again. This time they came really close to the front and side of our boat. They were so close that if you had a really long arm, and could reach the sea from the side of the boat, you could've touched them. They kept spraying water from their blowholes up at us, and we could even hear them squeaking!!
The views from the plane were amazing. We could see snow on the top of mountains, and the bluest rivers and lakes ever.
When we got back to Queenstown, we went to a bridge called the Kawarau bridge, to see people doing bungy jumps. This was one of the first places where bungy jumps were ever done.
I don't know how people could do it! Some children were doing it (although you had to be 10), and some people were getting their heads dunked in the water. When you eventually slowed down, you got dragged into a raft which took you ashore. Today was full of great experiences.
